The Kremlin has once again demonstrated its disregard for human life, launching a second massive missile barrage on Kyiv in just one week. The brutal assault resulted in at least 11 deaths within the capital and three more in the surrounding region, with 46 others—including five children—sustaining injuries.

Russian ballistic missiles tore through residential high-rises, warehouses, and workshops, leaving buildings partially collapsed and trapping civilians under the rubble. Emergency crews are currently working across more than 20 sites to pull survivors from the wreckage.

This latest act of aggression comes just hours before a pivotal NATO summit, where President Zelensky is slated to meet with President Trump to discuss the ongoing conflict.

Zelensky, who had warned of the impending strike based on intelligence reports, continues to press Western allies for immediate air defense support, noting that delays only embolden Moscow’s war machine.

While Russia attempts to frame these strikes as retaliation for Ukrainian operations against energy infrastructure in occupied Crimea and Russian territory, the reality on the ground is a campaign of destruction targeting the heart of the Ukrainian capital.

As the smoke clears, the message from the Kremlin remains clear: they intend to escalate the violence rather than seek a path to peace, underscoring the urgent need for robust defensive capabilities for our allies.
