Ukraine has taken the fight directly to Russian soil, launching a massive drone strike against a critical oil terminal in St. Petersburg, located over 500 miles from the border. President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the strike, identifying the facility as a vital revenue source for Moscow’s ongoing aggression.
The terminal, one of the largest in Russia with a capacity of 12.5 million tonnes of petroleum products annually, was confirmed hit by video evidence and local reports. St. Petersburg Governor Aleksandr Beglov admitted the facility was targeted during a massive drone assault, forcing the city to scramble as the Kremlin struggles to maintain its fuel supply.
This operation is part of a broader Ukrainian strategy to disable Russia's energy sector, which Kyiv claims has already seen nearly 43% of its refining capacity hampered.
While the Russian defense ministry predictably attempted to downplay the damage and threatened retaliation, the reality is that Putin’s war effort is increasingly vulnerable to these long-range strikes.
Meanwhile, on the front lines, Ukraine continues to hold its ground in the fortified town of Kostyantynivka, flatly rejecting Vladimir Putin’s baseless claims that the territory has fallen to Russian forces.
Zelensky challenged the Russian dictator to visit the town if his claims were true, highlighting the disconnect between Kremlin propaganda and the reality on the battlefield.
