
The Iranian regime is wasting no time exploiting the uncertainty surrounding the U.S. blockade, as three tankers loaded with 3.8 million barrels of crude oil successfully navigated past American naval lines in the Gulf of Oman. The vessels—the Diona, Hero II, and Sonia I—are owned by the National Iranian Tanker Company, an entity already under U.S.
Treasury sanctions for its role in funding a regime notorious for supporting global terrorism and pursuing nuclear weapons. While the U.S. has maintained that the blockade remains in effect until a formal deal is signed in Switzerland this Friday, these ships brazenly resumed broadcasting their locations immediately after crossing the blockade line.
This maneuver marks the first significant Iranian oil export in two months, directly challenging the enforcement efforts that had previously slashed Iran’s exports to a six-year low.
As the regime in Tehran ramps up its maritime activity, it is clear that the mullahs are eager to return to business as usual, testing whether the U.S. will maintain the pressure necessary to contain a state sponsor of terror.
