The Saudi-led coalition, which supports the internationally recognized government of Yemen, has intensified its efforts to neutralize the Iran-backed Houthi movement. Houthi-controlled media outlets, including Al Masirah, reported casualties following airstrikes in the town of al-Shariyah, east of Sanaa.
These strikes occurred shortly after the coalition successfully intercepted a missile aimed at Riyadh, underscoring the persistent threat posed by Houthi forces to regional stability.
The conflict, which has seen a resurgence following Iranian-backed provocations, involves the Houthis targeting civilian airports and critical oil infrastructure within Saudi Arabia. The coalition's actions are a necessary response to the Houthis' continued use of Yemeni territory as a launchpad for aggression.
As the Houthis threaten further retaliation, the reality remains that this group—an extension of Tehran's influence—continues to disrupt international shipping routes and threaten the sovereignty of the Yemeni government.
With over 1,600 lives lost since the resumption of major hostilities, the coalition continues to face the difficult task of dismantling a militant force that prioritizes terror over the safety of the region.
