Patriot Interceptors: The Only Way to Stop Russian Missiles

Without timely air‑defense support, the U.S. risks a new war of terror.

The latest Russian missile barrage, involving 24 ballistic missiles and over 100 drones, has claimed at least 17 lives and injured dozens more. It demonstrates that the United States cannot afford to wait for allies to deliver Patriot interceptors; the delay is costing innocent lives.

President Zelensky has pointed directly at the failure of Western allies to provide sufficient Patriot missile interceptors, noting that the supply of these critical defensive systems has been significantly reduced this year. The loss of life in Kyiv and its surroundings underscores the stakes for liberty and sovereignty, not only for Ukraine but for the entire NATO family.

While the European Commission has moved to utilize €1.4bn in immobilized Russian assets to support Ukraine's defense efforts, the United States must also step up. A limited government should not impede the timely delivery of life‑saving defense technology; free markets can supply Patriot systems, but politics must not delay them.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claims its strikes successfully targeted logistics hubs, weapon supply centers, drone production facilities, and cargo vessels near Odesa. If the U.S. fails to provide robust air defense, Russia could expand its influence, threaten NATO allies, and destabilize the continent, eroding law and order across Europe.

The incident also illustrates that law and order must be enforced at home. The arrest of an armed suspect at the Trump National Golf Course shows that threats to our leaders cannot be ignored. Robust defense abroad and strong domestic security go hand in hand.

The United States must act decisively, securing Patriot interceptors for Ukraine, ensuring that our allies can defend themselves, and preserving the principles of liberty, sovereignty, and limited government. Failure to do so risks a new wave of terror and undermines the very values we cherish.
