The pattern is unmistakable. Whether in Beijing, Alaska, or the streets of Europe, the forces arrayed against ordered liberty share a common contempt for accountable government and the rule of law. From a communist party purge to a manipulated Senate race, from doxxed immigration agents to rioting minors, the lesson is the same: sovereignty cannot survive where institutions are hollowed out or ignored.
Xi Jinping has expelled 33 Communist Party members, including former top generals Zhang Youxia and Liu Zhenli, gutting the Central Military Commission under the cover of anti-corruption. More than two million people have been disciplined since he took power, and the latest purge clears the path for a fourth term and the 2027 Party Congress. This is not reform; it is Mao-style personal rule, and it shows what happens when no institution stands above one man.
Closer to home, Governor Mike Dunleavy has ordered an investigation into allegations that Democratic operatives recruited Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. as a spoiler candidate to confuse voters and dilute support for incumbent Senator Dan S. Sullivan. Senator Lisa Murkowski called the tactic a "pattern of lies," and President Trump has demanded accountability, calling it cheating. When elections are gamed with phantom candidates, self-government itself is the casualty.
The threat extends to those who enforce the border. Hackers tied to the "Department of Peace" leaked the names, work addresses, and phone numbers of more than 41,000 DHS personnel, including ICE and CBP agents, in a dump dubbed "Icepick." By stripping anonymity from immigration officers, these radicals seek to intimidate the very officials tasked with deportations and security operations, following earlier breaches against the FBI and the Federal Election Commission.
In Brussels, Milan, and Barcelona, protests have given way to looting and clashes with police, with masked agitators throwing rocks and firecrackers. More than half of those detained in recent Barcelona scuffles are under 18. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is rightly pushing to hold parents financially responsible, including welfare deductions, while Marine Le Pen gives voice to a public exhausted by uncontrolled immigration and collapsing public safety.
Liberty, sovereignty, law and order, and accountable government are not abstract ideals. They require protected borders, honest ballots, and law enforcement officers who can do their jobs without fear of being targeted by hackers or mobs. The alternative is the Chinese model: a hollowed-out party apparatus entirely dependent on one man's whim.
The response must be clear and uncompromising. Investigate election schemes, prosecute those who endanger federal agents, secure the border, and stand with leaders who demand order rather than excuse chaos. Ordered liberty will not defend itself.
