Strength, Not Surrender, Defends American Liberty

From Tehran to Ottawa to our ballot boxes, accountable power is the only guard against decay.

The survival of American sovereignty now depends on rejecting diplomatic illusions, securing our borders and ballots, and holding foreign regimes and negligent neighbors accountable. Weakness invites aggression; strength preserves liberty.

The Iranian regime has once again taken American lives to prove its bad faith. Two U.S. service members were killed and one remains missing after Tehran launched ballistic missiles and drones into Jordan, bringing the conflict’s U.S. death toll to 16. This followed necessary American strikes after President Trump rightly judged a temporary ceasefire a failure. The regime of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei understands only strength, and any return to diplomatic fantasy endangers every citizen.

Election integrity is the domestic pillar of that sovereignty. President Trump revealed declassified files indicating Beijing illicitly acquired 220 million voter files, with 18 states compromised through hacking or theft. The Department of Homeland Security found 278,000 non-citizens still registered to vote, while a Michigan voter fraud probe was allegedly stifled by the FBI. The SAVE America Act, mandating citizenship proof and photo ID, is the bare minimum for a accountable republic.

Abroad, the collapse of checks and balances in Hungary shows what happens when power is consolidated without limit. The Tisza party forced President Tamás Sulyok from office, ousted Constitutional Court head Péter Polt, forced retirement of judges over 70, and disqualified over half of Fidesz deputies via term limits. Former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán called it tyranny. Unchecked centralization anywhere is a warning for those who value liberty.

Even environmental mismanagement across our border is an assault on American life. With nearly 1,000 Canadian wildfires burning, President Trump threatened tariffs over what he called Canada’s “willful negligence” as smoke choked cities from Minnesota to New York. Ontario Premier Doug Ford claims Canada is doing all it can, but U.S. lawmakers John James and John Moolenaar say patience has run out. A sovereign nation must not suffer the consequences of another’s failure to act.

These are not isolated stories. They are fronts in one contest: whether the United States defends its people, its laws, and its borders—or surrenders them to foreign enemies, foreign neglect, and domestic bureaucratic rot. Limited government means government strong enough to protect, not so weak it apologizes for surviving.

The path forward is clear. Confront Iran with resolve. Pass the SAVE America Act. Demand Canada answer for the smoke. And never confuse restraint with surrender. Liberty is not maintained by hope; it is secured by action.
