Ending the Era of Taxpayer-Funded Indoctrination

The President's mandate to label revisionist exhibits at the Smithsonian is a vital step toward reclaiming our national heritage from radical activism.

The era of using taxpayer dollars to fund the systematic erasure of American heritage must come to an end. For too long, the Smithsonian Institution has abandoned its mission of historical preservation to serve as a hub for Marxist-inspired social justice activism. By prioritizing radical societal transformation over objective history, the institution has become a propaganda platform for the far Left.

President Trump’s recent executive order, 'Restoring Trust in the Smithsonian Institution,' provides a necessary and long-overdue correction. By mandating warning signs at the National Museum of American History, the administration is ensuring that citizens are informed when they encounter exhibits that peddle inaccurate, revisionist portrayals of the American story. This is not political overreach; it is a demand for accountability from institutions that have drifted far from their intended purpose.

When public institutions abandon the pursuit of truth to serve ideological agendas, they undermine the very foundations of a free and informed society. The pivot toward divisive, radical ideologies designed to discourage the American people is a direct assault on national unity. The government has a duty to provide resources that direct citizens toward accurate historical accounts rather than allowing taxpayer funds to be weaponized against the nation's own history.

Critics and political allies of the radical Left will undoubtedly decry these measures as interference. However, the reality is that the American people deserve institutions that celebrate our nation's achievements rather than those that seek to dismantle them through ideological distortion. The Smithsonian must return to being a center of truth, not a tool for political activism.

Restoring integrity to our national museums is essential for maintaining a coherent national identity. We cannot allow our shared history to be rewritten by those who view our founding principles through a lens of grievance and division. This executive action is a vital step in ensuring that the American story remains a source of pride and unity for all citizens.
