While the Kremlin continues to deflect, dismissing reports as "false information" and claiming no formal diplomatic request has been received, the White House is not taking the Russian narrative at face value. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has signaled that the United States is prepared to intervene with necessary measures should the situation escalate, and the World Health Organization has joined the chorus demanding the transparency that Moscow has thus far failed to provide, with nearly 200 people reportedly under observation in the Irkutsk region.
If Moscow hides the truth, a potential pneumonic plague could spread, threatening global health and undermining the United States’ ability to protect its citizens. Transparency is required to uphold law and order and to prevent authoritarian cover‑ups that endanger liberty.
The same principle of demanding accountability applies to threats at home. In France, radical‑left agitators have hijacked student protests, leading to over 700 police officers injured and more than 6,500 people stopped or arrested since late September, demonstrating how unchecked chaos undermines law and order.
