Lawlessness has descended upon Polish schools this week, with a 21-year-old female student arrested for attacking three people at a Warsaw educational institution. The suspect allegedly used a dangerous object to assault a 17-year-old girl, as well as two other women aged 17 and 24 who were present to submit enrollment documents.
While the victims' injuries are reportedly not life-threatening, the incident marks a terrifying escalation in a week already marred by violence.
This latest attack follows a series of tragedies, including a stabbing on Thursday that claimed the life of a 37-year-old caretaker at a primary school in Leszczydół-Nowiny, and a Wednesday assault at a vocational school in the Mazovian province that left nine people injured.
In response to the chaos, Polish authorities deployed thousands of officers to schools nationwide, detaining 76 individuals in an effort to restore order. Prime Minister Donald Tusk has pledged no compromise regarding the safety of students, while reports suggest that some of these incidents may be linked to a perverse internet challenge.
As the nation reels, police are also investigating threats in other regions, including the detention of a 17-year-old in Sierpc who allegedly declared an intent to commit violence on school grounds. The rapid succession of these attacks underscores a growing crisis that demands immediate and decisive action from state security forces.
