California Governor Gavin Newsom and other local officials are predictably melting down over President Trump’s recent comments regarding the national security threat posed by Iran.
During a campaign rally in Nebraska, the President highlighted the grave danger of a nuclear-armed Iran, noting that the regime would not hesitate to target American cities like Los Angeles and San Diego if allowed to develop such capabilities.
While Newsom and his allies are busy labeling the President’s words as 'deranged' and 'treasonous' to score political points, the White House is setting the record straight.
Communications Director Stephen Cheung dismissed the outrage as a 'media freakout' divorced from reality, clarifying that the President was emphasizing the necessity of stopping Iran’s nuclear program to prevent exactly the kind of devastation these cities would face under a nuclear-armed regime.
The reality is that Los Angeles and San Diego house critical military assets, including Pacific Fleet ports and Space Force headquarters, making them prime targets for hostile actors. By neutralizing Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the administration has secured the nation against a regime that has no place in a civilized world.
While California’s leadership focuses on performative outrage and monitoring 'threats' that exist only in their own political narratives, the Trump administration remains focused on the actual defense of the United States.
