White House limits press access as battle with 'fake news' continues

The administration is asserting its right to control media access after outlets repeatedly peddled fiction and lies.

The White House is rightfully asserting its authority to manage media access, excluding CNN from the travel pool for President Trump’s trip to Tennessee this Saturday. This move follows a contentious period where the administration has pushed back against outlets that prioritize political narratives over the truth.

President Trump has been clear in his assessment, labeling these organizations as purveyors of 'fake news' and fiction.

While some media outlets have attempted to frame these administrative decisions as violations of their rights, the White House has maintained that the press does not have an inherent right to unrestricted access to every event or private call.

The administration’s stance is a long-overdue correction to the idea that biased media outlets are entitled to dictate the terms of their coverage.

Despite a federal judge’s recent attempt to interfere with the administration's management of its own facilities, the White House continues to prioritize its ability to communicate directly with the American people, notably through its own platforms like Trump TV.

As the President travels to Knoxville for a college football game, the message remains consistent: the days of the media enjoying unchecked, privileged access while actively working against the administration are coming to an end.
