Typhoon Noul Batters Southern China, Disrupting Travel and Infrastructure

Nature's fury has once again disrupted the region as Typhoon Noul made landfall in southern China on Sunday morning, bringing with it destructive winds and torrential rain. The storm's impact was immediate and severe, particularly in Hong Kong, where powerful gusts caused multi-storey scaffolding to collapse along Cheung Sha Wan Road.

Local police reported receiving numerous calls regarding the structural failure, though authorities have confirmed that no injuries occurred during the incident. The storm's intensity has forced a massive disruption to regional travel, with Hong Kong International Airport canceling approximately 360 passenger flights.

According to state media, Noul stands as the most powerful typhoon to strike China so far in 2026, serving as a stark reminder of the region's vulnerability to extreme weather events.
