The Houthi movement, an Iranian-backed terrorist organization operating out of Yemen, has escalated its campaign of violence against Saudi Arabia with a series of deadly strikes.
On Saturday, a missile attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh left 14 people dead and over 300 injured, as captured in harrowing CCTV footage of civilians scrambling for cover. This assault is part of a broader, coordinated offensive that has included strikes on oil facilities and the airport in Dammam. The Houthi military spokesman, Brig.
Gen. Yahya Saree, has brazenly claimed responsibility for the attacks, utilizing a mix of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.
Furthermore, the group has issued a direct threat to international aviation, warning airlines and passengers to avoid Saudi airspace and declaring all Saudi airports—with the exception of those in Mecca and Medina—as legitimate targets for future aggression.
This blatant disregard for human life and international norms of conduct underscores the urgent need for a firm response to the Houthi threat and their state sponsors who continue to destabilize the region.
