US Vice-President JD Vance speaks behind a lectern

Vice President JD Vance is the latest target of a media-manufactured controversy after he openly discussed his Christian faith and theological perspectives on a recent podcast. During a conversation with host Bryce Crawford, Vance mused on the 'end times' and the concept of the Antichrist—topics that have been central to Christian doctrine for millennia.

Rather than obsessing over eschatology, Vance made it clear that his focus remains on his duties as Vice President, his family, and serving the American people.

Conservative writer Rod Dreher, a friend of the Vice President, correctly identified the media's reaction as out of touch, noting that these beliefs are widely held by millions of Americans who vote Republican. Dreher pointed out that even President Ronald Reagan spoke on similar themes, which were viewed as normal by the American electorate at the time.

Vance, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, continues to prioritize his conservative values and his role in the administration, refusing to let secular critics dictate the boundaries of his faith or his public discourse.
