Ottawa Caught Meddling in U.S. Elections

Canadian officials are openly plotting to influence American politics, prompting a sharp rebuke from the U.S. Embassy.

The U.S. Embassy in Ottawa has officially put the Canadian government on notice, accusing its leaders of blatant election meddling ahead of the critical November midterms.

A damning fact sheet released by the embassy exposes how Canadian ministers and premiers are not only ignoring concerns about their interference but are openly documenting their plans to sway American politics. The evidence is clear: Canadian officials have been caught coordinating with U.S.

Democrats and strategizing on how to use retaliatory tariffs as a weapon against the current administration’s political base.

Specifically, the report highlights Industry Minister Mélanie Joly’s admission that she is meeting with U.S. governors and potential presidential candidates to influence election outcomes, as well as Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s push for tariffs aimed at states politically significant to the Trump administration.

Prime Minister Mark Carney and his cabinet have predictably dismissed these serious allegations, hiding behind the tired excuse that their actions are merely defensive responses to U.S. trade policies. While Canadian officials claim they have 'no interest' in interfering, their own public statements and documented strategies tell a different story.

As the midterms approach, the U.S. government is rightly calling out this foreign attempt to manipulate the democratic process, signaling that Canada’s efforts to undermine American sovereignty will not go unnoticed or unchallenged.
