Ukrainian drone strikes have successfully targeted logistics hubs belonging to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions.
These facilities are far from innocent storefronts; President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the hubs were actively involved in providing the Russian army with drone components, navigation equipment, and other essential military gear.
Serhii Kuzan, chairman of the Ukrainian Security and Cooperation Centre, correctly identified Wildberries as a vital component of Russian logistics, noting that the platform facilitates the supply of dual-use goods and sanctioned electronics to the Russian war effort.
While the retailer’s founder, Tatyana Kim, attempted to frame the strikes as an attack on ordinary commerce, the reality remains that these warehouses serve as a backbone for the Russian military-industrial complex. The strikes, which follow a similar operation four days prior, are a necessary tactical move to disrupt the flow of supplies to the front lines.
Despite the disruption to Russian commerce, the strategic necessity of degrading the enemy's logistical capacity takes precedence in this conflict. As long as these facilities continue to function as supply depots for the Russian military, they remain legitimate targets in Ukraine's defense of its sovereignty.
