Putin’s 'Peace' Offensive: Russia Launches Missile Barrage Hours After Talks Announced

Moscow proves once again that its promises are worthless as it rains missiles on Kyiv while feigning interest in diplomacy.

The Kremlin’s latest display of bad faith is a stark reminder that Russian promises are not worth the paper they are written on. Mere hours after Moscow declared it was 'ready in principle' to resume peace talks with the United States and Ukraine, Russian forces launched three waves of missile strikes against Kyiv.

President Volodymyr Zelensky rightfully mocked the hypocrisy of the regime, labeling the attackers 'Russian humanitarians.' This latest act of aggression follows a bizarre and concerning development in St. Petersburg, where U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff reportedly referred to Vladimir Putin as a 'humanitarian' during a meeting.

The reality on the ground, however, remains unchanged: a destroyed retail park in Kyiv stands as the true testament to Russia’s intentions. While bureaucrats in Washington may entertain the fantasy of diplomatic breakthroughs, the Russian military continues to demonstrate that its only language is force.

The Biden administration’s attempt to engage with a regime that treats peace talks as a tactical distraction is a failure of resolve that only emboldens an adversary committed to the destruction of a sovereign nation.
