
The Turkish government is taking decisive action to defend the traditional family unit, launching a series of raids across 12 provinces that resulted in the detention of 47 individuals. The operation, titled 'My Family is Safe,' is part of a broader 'Decade of the Family' initiative aimed at curbing the influence of radical social movements.
During the raids, law enforcement officials seized a cache of illicit items, including drugs, smuggled alcohol, and a firearm, proving that these operations are about maintaining public order and the rule of law.
The Ankara chief prosecutor's office confirmed that investigations are ongoing into the LGBTQ association Kaos GL, which has faced scrutiny over allegations of distributing obscene material accessible to children. Authorities have already moved to block several websites and social media accounts linked to these organizations.
While activists attempt to frame this as state-led discrimination, the government remains committed to its mandate. Justice Minister Akin Gurlek noted that legal proceedings have been initiated against more than 160 individuals and various entities nationwide.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been vocal about his stance, identifying the promotion of these agendas as a threat to the nation's demographic stability and traditional moral fabric.
