President Donald Trump has delivered a blunt message to Oman, warning the nation against obstructing U.S. efforts to secure the Strait of Hormuz. As the 60-day Memorandum of Understanding regarding the waterway reaches its expiration, the President made it clear that American strategy will not be derailed by secondary negotiations.
The Strait, a critical artery for global energy supplies, has been effectively shuttered by the Iranian regime for months following the U.S.-led military response in February. While Oman has attempted to position itself as a neutral mediator, the President is focused on the singular goal of ensuring Iran remains incapable of obtaining a nuclear weapon.
During a recent interview, the President dismissed the notion of rushing into a deal, noting that the Iranian regime is under significant pressure. Furthermore, the President revealed the existence of a direct backchannel with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a claim the Iranian regime has predictably attempted to deny.
As the administration continues its firm stance against Tehran, the message to all regional actors remains consistent: American national security interests take precedence, and the U.S. will not tolerate interference that compromises its ability to confront the world's leading state sponsor of terror.
