Following a lackluster performance by Republican candidates in the midterms, Donald Trump is wasting no time holding the party accountable. The former president took to Truth Social to call out those he deems disloyal to the movement, specifically targeting Texas Governor Greg Abbott for his loss, labeling him a 'RINO'—Republican in Name Only.

Trump made it clear that he believes the results would have been a landslide victory had he been on the ballot, noting that some candidates simply failed to connect with voters or were not aligned with his vision.

While Trump acknowledged that the Democrats 'did a good job' in their campaign efforts, he is already pivoting to his primary weapon against their control of Congress: the veto. Trump has signaled he will not hesitate to block 'insane' legislation sent to his desk, betting that after a few months of gridlock, Democrats will be forced to negotiate.

He also pointed to the economic fallout of the Iran conflict and the resulting spike in gasoline prices as a major factor that turned voters away from the GOP.

As he transitions into a role as a political commentator on the party's successes and failures, Trump remains focused on the reality that while the opposition may have secured a win, the battle for the country's direction is far from over.
