President Donald Trump has confirmed that Elon Musk has restored full access to the Starlink satellite network for Ukraine, addressing concerns that connectivity bottlenecks were undermining Kyiv’s defensive and offensive capabilities.
The intervention follows reports that the military-grade Starshield network—a derivative of Musk’s Starlink system—had been operating at restricted speeds, which reportedly crippled Ukraine's ability to effectively deploy drones against Russian forces.
While Musk has previously denied personal involvement in the slowdowns, suggesting the Pentagon may hold ultimate control over the military-grade system, the President made it clear that the issue has been resolved.
When pressed on reports that he personally contacted Musk to demand the lifting of restrictions, Trump remained focused on the result, stating, 'Bottom line, he put it back.' The situation had become a point of contention for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who publicly noted that speeds had not yet returned to optimal levels and indicated he was awaiting further updates from Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The administration continues to navigate a complex geopolitical landscape, balancing the necessity of supporting a sovereign ally against the broader economic realities of global energy markets and the need to stabilize domestic fuel prices.
