The White House has issued a formal request to Congress for $87.6 billion to address critical requirements for Operation Epic Fury, the ongoing military effort against Iran.

The bulk of this funding, $67 billion, is earmarked for the Department of Defense to replenish munitions, cover operational costs, and support classified programs essential to maintaining American strength in the region.

Despite the clear necessity of rebuilding military capabilities following strikes against a hostile regime, the request faces resistance from a handful of lawmakers who seem more interested in political grandstanding than supporting our troops.

President Trump rightly dismissed recent symbolic votes by Congress to restrict his war powers as poorly timed and meaningless, noting that those who seek to hinder the mission during an active conflict are failing to grasp the stakes.

While some senators have engaged in public disputes over the duration and objectives of the mission, the administration remains focused on the urgent need to secure our embassies and ensure our military is fully equipped to achieve its goals.

In addition to the defense funding, the proposal includes $11 billion for American farmers and $1.4 billion to combat the Ebola outbreak, demonstrating a commitment to both national security and domestic priorities.

As the administration works to rebuild stocks and maintain a position of power, it is clear that the mission requires the full backing of Congress to ensure that American interests in the Middle East are protected.
