The Trump administration is taking decisive action to protect American sovereignty, announcing a ban on the import of new foreign-made humanoid robots and power inverters.

By adding these technologies to the FCC’s Covered List, the administration is rightfully identifying that devices manufactured by our primary geopolitical adversary pose an unacceptable risk to our national security.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr emphasized the necessity of securing America’s critical supply chains, noting that these foreign-made machines could be weaponized by hostile actors to surveil Americans, facilitate cyberattacks, or even be remotely commandeered.

The ban, which covers advanced robotic devices and power inverters used in data centers and solar panels, serves as a necessary firewall against Beijing’s attempts to infiltrate our infrastructure.

While the Chinese embassy predictably resorted to rhetoric about 'politicizing' trade and 'groundless pretexts,' the reality is that the U.S. can no longer afford to ignore the dangers posed by Chinese technology firms that act as extensions of their government.

This move is the latest step in the Trump administration's broader strategy to address trade imbalances, protect American intellectual property, and ensure that the U.S. maintains its technological edge over a regime that has spent years stealing innovation and modernizing its military at our expense.
