The Saudi government has reached a breaking point, vowing a serious and necessary response to the relentless campaign of terror waged by the Iran-backed Houthi movement.
Over the past week, Houthi forces have launched a series of missile and drone strikes targeting civilian infrastructure, including Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and facilities in Dammam.
These attacks have resulted in the deaths of multiple civilians, including an American, a Pakistani, and several Saudi nationals, marking a significant and dangerous escalation in the region.
Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman addressed the WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh, asserting that the kingdom’s response to these provocations will be equally serious. He emphasized that while energy security is under pressure, the Saudi people remain fearless and determined to overcome these threats.
The Houthis, acting as a proxy for Iranian interests, have attempted to justify their aggression by claiming retaliation for Saudi-led coalition efforts to restore the legitimate Yemeni government. However, these strikes against civilian airports and energy hubs are clear violations of international norms.
As the Saudi-led coalition continues to provide essential air support to pro-government forces in Yemen, the international community watches to see how the kingdom will neutralize this persistent threat to regional stability and global energy security.
