The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has intensified, with a brutal wave of Russian strikes leaving nine people dead across Ukraine and causing significant damage to historic landmarks, including the 11th-century Dormition Cathedral in Kyiv.

Ukrainian officials report that four individuals were killed in the capital, while five rescue workers perished while battling a fire ignited by a Russian strike in Kharkiv. The assault left over 140,000 residents in Kyiv without power and caused widespread destruction to residential buildings.

In a clear demonstration that the war is not one-sided, Ukraine launched a drone attack on the Russian city of Tula, south of Moscow. Russian officials confirmed that this strike resulted in three deaths and multiple injuries.

As the violence continues, Poland has placed its air defense systems on high alert, and the international community looks toward an upcoming G7 meeting in France to address the escalating situation.

President Volodymyr Zelensky recently engaged in discussions with President Donald Trump regarding potential paths to end the conflict, which has been ongoing since Vladimir Putin initiated his full-scale invasion in 2022.
