The Russian military has intensified its assault on Kyiv, striking the Northern Bridge on Saturday morning in a move that damaged road surfaces and severed trolleybus lines.

This latest aggression follows a series of drone strikes on the Southern Bridge throughout Thursday and Friday, marking a significant escalation in Moscow's efforts to dismantle the city's essential infrastructure.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the damage to the Northern Bridge, which has forced traffic closures and disrupted the movement of millions of residents who rely on these vital links between the eastern and western banks of the capital.

These bridges, which had remained untouched earlier in the conflict, are now central targets in a campaign that has already forced the suspension of metro and vehicle traffic across the Southern Bridge.

While Vladimir Putin attempts to justify these strikes as a response to Ukrainian actions against Russian energy facilities, the reality remains that Moscow initiated this conflict and continues to target civilian logistics, housing, and essential services.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has condemned the strikes, noting that the Kremlin’s failure to achieve a military occupation has devolved into a campaign of destruction aimed at crippling the nation's data centers, communication networks, and public institutions.

As emergency services work to address the damage, the situation in Kyiv remains critical, with the city facing a systematic effort to isolate its population and destroy its capacity to function.
