President Donald Trump welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping to the White House for a high-stakes two-day summit, marking the first visit to Washington by the Chinese leader in ten years. While the event was characterized by traditional pomp and ceremony, the administration's efforts to secure tangible concessions on key issues remained elusive.

The diplomatic engagement concluded with a formal state dinner, which saw attendance from prominent American tech industry leaders, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

Despite the display of hospitality, the lack of confirmed progress on the brewing tariff war and other structural trade disputes suggests that the administration remains locked in a difficult negotiation with Beijing, where national sovereignty and economic interests continue to clash with the ambitions of the Chinese regime.
