The Russian military is once again testing the limits of NATO's patience, with a Mi-8 helicopter crossing into Polish airspace near Braniewo on Wednesday morning.

The aircraft, originating from the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, penetrated 300 meters into Polish territory before retreating, forcing the Polish military to scramble fighter jets and place ground forces on high alert. Polish officials correctly identified the maneuver as a deliberate probe of their air defense readiness.

While Moscow maintains its usual posture of denial, this incident is part of a broader campaign of hybrid warfare that has seen Russian drones, missiles, and sabotage attempts plague European nations.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has rightly signaled that these intimidation tactics are intended to break Western support for Ukraine, but they are failing to achieve their objective.

As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov continues to issue bellicose threats against Europe, the reality remains clear: Russia is actively destabilizing the continent through cyberattacks, infrastructure sabotage, and direct aerial incursions. Poland and its NATO allies must remain vigilant and prepared to meet this aggression with the strength it demands.
