Pakistan has taken necessary action to defend its sovereignty, launching a series of airstrikes and ground operations into Afghan provinces to dismantle terrorist hideouts. This decisive response follows a brutal suicide attack on a Sindh Rangers headquarters in Karachi, which left three Pakistani paramilitary personnel dead.
The operation targeted militants in the Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar provinces, with Pakistani officials confirming the elimination of 29 terrorists linked to groups like the TTP and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar—organizations already designated as terror threats by the United Nations.
While the Taliban regime in Kabul continues its standard practice of crying foul and alleging civilian casualties to deflect from their failure to secure their own borders, Islamabad has made it clear that these strikes are a direct response to the ongoing threat of cross-border terrorism.
For too long, the Taliban has provided a safe harbor for groups that launch unprovoked attacks on innocent people. Pakistan’s military has demonstrated that it will not stand idly by while its citizens are targeted by militants operating from across the border.
As the fragile ceasefire between the two nations continues to crumble, it is evident that Pakistan is prioritizing the security of its people over the diplomatic sensitivities of a regime that has proven unable or unwilling to police its own territory.
