The global energy market is feeling the heat as oil prices surged past $100 a barrel on Monday, a direct consequence of the failed negotiations between the U.S. and Iran. Brent crude climbed 8.5% to $102.37, while West Texas Intermediate jumped 9% to $105.34.

This market volatility follows President Trump’s firm declaration that the U.S. will blockade any and all ships attempting to enter or exit Iranian ports. U.S. Central Command confirmed that this enforcement action, designed to pressure the rogue regime in Tehran, began at 10:00 ET on Monday.

While the administration has clarified that the blockade will be enforced impartially against vessels tied to Iranian ports, it will not impede traffic to and from non-Iranian destinations.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical artery for global energy, has remained a flashpoint since the conflict began on February 28, with Iran repeatedly threatening international shipping.

Despite the regime's defiant rhetoric from parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and threats from the IRGC, the U.S. is moving forward with a strategy of strength to address the ongoing energy crisis and hold the Iranian leadership accountable.
