In a significant escalation of the ongoing conflict, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a coordinated operation, dubbed 'Eternal Darkness,' targeting approximately 100 Hezbollah military sites across Lebanon in a span of just 10 minutes.

The strikes were aimed at neutralizing Hezbollah's command structure and military capabilities, which have been used to launch rocket attacks into Israel.

While the Lebanese health ministry and local residents have lamented the destruction, the reality of the situation remains that Hezbollah—a designated terrorist organization—has long utilized civilian neighborhoods, such as Hay el Sellom and central Beirut, as human shields for its military operations.

The IDF has maintained that it makes extensive efforts to mitigate harm to uninvolved individuals, noting that the high concentration of military targets within densely populated areas is a direct result of Hezbollah’s cynical exploitation of Lebanese civilians to safeguard its operations.

Among the casualties reported in the strikes were confirmed Hezbollah figures, including senior operative Ali Mohammed Ghulam Dahini and liaison official Mohammed Ma'ani.

Despite the tragic loss of life, the responsibility for the devastation lies with the terrorist group that chooses to embed its weapons and command centers in the heart of residential communities.

Israel continues to act in its own defense, targeting those who seek its destruction while facing the difficult reality of an enemy that refuses to fight on a traditional battlefield.
