The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have defended their recent operations in southern Lebanon, stating that strikes were directed at military threats rather than media personnel.
The IDF reported identifying vehicles departing from a Hezbollah-controlled military structure, noting that one vehicle crossed a forward defense line and approached Israeli troops, posing an immediate threat in violation of the ceasefire. In response, the Israeli Air Force struck the vehicles and the associated structure.
Lebanese officials, including Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, have accused Israel of intentionally targeting journalists and obstructing rescue efforts, labeling the events as war crimes. The IDF has consistently denied targeting journalists, emphasizing that their actions are intended to mitigate harm while ensuring the security of Israeli troops.
The conflict continues to escalate, with both sides accusing the other of violating the ceasefire agreement. Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for strikes against Israeli targets, while the IDF remains focused on neutralizing threats from the terrorist organization.
