Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has had enough of the media's attempts to undermine his leadership, ordering his legal team to initiate defamation proceedings against the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
The outlet recently published claims, sourced from a new book, alleging that UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan warned Netanyahu of an impending Hamas operation just days before the October 7 atrocities. Netanyahu’s office has categorically rejected the report as a 'sinister plot,' stating unequivocally that no such warning was ever received.
The timing of the report, surfacing as Israel approaches a critical election, reeks of a coordinated effort by the left to influence the outcome.
Haaretz, a long-time antagonist of the Prime Minister, claims its report is the result of extensive research, but Netanyahu’s Likud Party has rightly identified the story as blatant foreign interference in Israel’s domestic politics.
While the media attempts to frame this as a matter of journalistic integrity, it is clearly a desperate attempt to weaponize the tragedy of October 7 against the current administration.
As the country prepares for elections, opposition leaders are predictably seizing on the report to demand an inquiry, ignoring the Prime Minister’s firm denial and the suspicious nature of the leak. Netanyahu remains focused on the reality of the conflict, while his detractors continue to prioritize political maneuvering over national security.
