Cockpit brawl forces emergency landing of Israel-bound flight

A routine flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv descended into chaos on Wednesday when a physical fight between the pilot and co-pilot forced an emergency diversion to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

The Flydubai aircraft, carrying approximately 150 passengers—most of whom were Israeli—triggered a hijacking alert mid-flight, prompting the Israeli Air Force to scramble fighter jets as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened urgent security consultations.

Data from Flightradar24 revealed a terrifying rapid descent, with the plane dropping over 17,000 feet in less than two minutes. While the Prime Minister’s office eventually ruled out a deliberate hijacking, the incident remains under investigation as a failure of basic professional conduct in the cockpit.

Passengers reported fearing for their lives as the aircraft plummeted, a direct result of the pilots' inability to maintain control and composure.

Flydubai has offered little beyond a vague statement claiming they are working with authorities, leaving those on board to deal with the aftermath of a journey that should have been standard but instead became a dangerous security concern.
