The reality of the war in Ukraine has hit home for Romanian citizens after a drone struck a residential building in the city of Galați. The incident, which occurred near the Ukrainian border on Friday, resulted in a fire and left two individuals injured.

While Romanian officials have identified the craft as a Russian drone, the incident serves as a stark reminder that the instability caused by Moscow's aggression cannot be neatly contained within borders.

President Nicușor Dan suggested the drone may have been diverted after being engaged by Ukrainian air defenses, a claim that Moscow has predictably attempted to deflect.

Regardless of the specific trajectory, the result is the same: innocent civilians are now living in fear, forced to sleep in their own homes wondering if they will be the next target of a stray projectile.

This event underscores the urgent need for NATO allies to maintain a posture of strength and vigilance as the conflict continues to threaten the safety of surrounding sovereign nations.
