The Houthi terror group, acting as a direct extension of Iranian influence, has launched a lethal ballistic missile assault on the Martyr Ahmed al-Sulaimani Training Centre in Yemen’s Shabwa province. The attack, which utilized three missiles, resulted in the deaths of at least 53 security personnel and left over 200 others wounded.
This massacre targeted recruits preparing to serve in the country's internal security forces, a clear attempt by the Iran-backed militants to cripple the government's ability to maintain order. Rashad al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, has rightly condemned the strike as a criminal act and vowed a firm response.
While the Houthis attempt to frame the training camp as a legitimate military target to mask their own battlefield failures, the reality is a desperate attempt to project strength as their forces suffer setbacks against the Saudi-backed coalition.
The conflict, which has been fueled by Iranian-supplied weaponry and regional aggression, continues to threaten the stability of the Red Sea and the safety of our allies.
As the Houthis continue their campaign of terror against both Yemeni security forces and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, it remains clear that these proxies are the primary obstacle to peace in the region.
