The Houthi militia, acting as a direct proxy for the Iranian regime, launched a barrage of five ballistic missiles at the al-Maashiq Palace in Aden, the seat of Yemen’s internationally recognized government.
While Prime Minister Shaya Zindani and his cabinet ministers escaped physical harm, the attack claimed the lives of two security personnel and left many others injured. This latest act of aggression is a continuation of the Houthis' criminal behavior, which has plagued the region since they ousted the legitimate government in 2014.
The Houthis, emboldened by Tehran, have consistently escalated their violence, targeting airports, oil facilities, and military bases across the region. Saudi officials have rightly pointed to Iran as the primary culprit, noting that the regime continues to arm, train, and support these militants in direct violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
Despite Iran’s predictable denials, their fingerprints are all over this escalation. Prime Minister Zindani remains steadfast, vowing that this terrorist attack will not weaken the government's resolve to push back against the Houthi insurgency and restore stability to the Red Sea coast.
As the conflict continues, it remains clear that the Houthis are not interested in peace, but in serving as a destabilizing force for their Iranian masters.
