The Houthi rebels, acting as a proxy for the Iranian regime, have launched a deadly assault on Yemeni government military camps, resulting in the deaths of at least 30 soldiers. The coordinated attack involved a barrage of missiles and drones targeting the Emergency Forces in the Marib and Hadramawt provinces.
This act of aggression is a clear attempt to destabilize the region and undermine the internationally recognized government. While the Houthis attempted to justify their violence by claiming they were targeting Saudi military build-ups, the U.S. mission to Yemen rightly condemned the strike as an act of cowardice and terrorism against the Yemeni people.
This escalation shatters the relative calm that had persisted since 2022 and follows a series of Houthi provocations against maritime security and Saudi infrastructure.
The Houthis continue to serve as a primary instrument of Iranian destabilization, proving once again that they have no interest in peace, only in the violent expansion of their influence through terror.
