Pakistan has taken necessary action to defend its sovereignty, launching a series of air strikes against 10 identified military targets within Afghanistan.
The strikes, which Islamabad described as precise, calibrated, and proportionate, come as a direct response to a surge in cross-border terrorism, including a recent attack on a police facility that left at least 31 people dead.
While the Taliban government in Kabul predictably decries the operations, the reality is that Pakistan is responding to the persistent threat posed by militants operating from within Afghan territory.
The Taliban continues to deny responsibility for the militancy, claiming it is an internal Pakistani issue, yet they have failed to provide the 'concrete and verifiable' measures demanded by Islamabad to ensure their territory is not used as a staging ground for terror.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar emphasized that these operations were strictly limited to military objectives linked to attacks against Pakistan. As tensions escalate, the onus remains on the Taliban to stop harboring groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, which have waged a violent campaign against their neighbor for years.
Pakistan has made it clear: any further provocative acts originating from across the border will be met with a firm and appropriate response.
