FIFA Fights Back Against European Elites Trying to Oust Gianni Infantino

Global football governing body slams 'concerted effort' to undermine leadership through smear campaigns and misinformation.

FIFA has officially gone on the offensive, slamming what it describes as a 'concerted and ongoing effort' to destabilize the organization and its president, Gianni Infantino.

The pushback follows a series of reports and mounting pressure from European football associations, including the Norwegian Football Federation, which have demanded Infantino’s resignation.

FIFA characterizes these attacks as a desperate attempt by those who lack the support of the majority to bypass established democratic processes through misinformation and character assassination. At the heart of the conflict is the failed Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal, an initiative that would have restructured commercial and ticketing rights.

While European critics have threatened boycotts and voiced a loss of confidence, Infantino maintains strong support from member associations in South America, Africa, and Mexico.

FIFA’s leadership, including Infantino and secretary general Mattias Grafstrom, has made it clear that while they welcome legitimate scrutiny, they will no longer tolerate the distortion of facts or the manufacturing of distractions designed to undermine the institution.

Infantino, who was democratically elected by FIFA’s member associations, continues to hold their mandate, and the organization is vowing to challenge inaccurate reporting vigorously.
