The radical left has tightened its grip on New York politics as candidates endorsed by democratic socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani swept their primary races this week. The results mark a significant victory for the party’s fringe, as challengers running on platforms to 'abolish ICE' and hike taxes on the wealthy successfully toppled establishment incumbents.

In the 10th congressional district, Brad Lander—who has leveled inflammatory accusations of genocide against Israel—crushed incumbent Dan Goldman, a two-term congressman who had previously enjoyed the support of pro-Israel groups.

The shift was echoed in the 13th district, where Darializa Avila Chevalier, a participant in radical protests at Columbia University, defeated veteran congressman Adriano Espaillat. Assemblywoman Claire Valdez also secured a victory in the 7th district.

These candidates, all openly embracing the democratic socialist label, have made it clear that their agenda prioritizes aggressive wealth redistribution and hostility toward our key ally, Israel.

While establishment Democrats like House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries attempt to downplay the significance of these losses, the results demonstrate a clear and dangerous trend within the party.

As the far-left continues to push its agenda, the divide between the party's radical base and the concerns of average Americans grows ever wider, setting the stage for a volatile midterm cycle.
