Beijing Lectures Israel on West Bank Policy While Bankrolling Iran

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi demands Israel halt settlements, ignoring his nation's role as the primary financial lifeline for the Iranian regime.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi used a meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Azerbaijan to demand that Israel cease the development of settlements in the West Bank, labeling the Palestinian issue the 'greatest historical injustice of this century.' While Beijing attempts to frame itself as a neutral mediator in the Middle East, its actions tell a different story.

China remains the largest buyer of Iranian oil, effectively providing the financial oxygen that allows Tehran to fund the very terror proxies that threaten Israel's existence. President Herzog, maintaining a diplomatic stance, noted that his discussion with Wang focused on regional relations and the clear strategic threats posed by Iran.

Despite China's self-appointed role as a peacemaker, its track record includes brokering deals for the Iranian regime and attempting to unify Palestinian factions, including those that have historically rejected Israel's right to exist.

As Israel continues to defend itself against the ongoing fallout from the October 7 Hamas attacks, Beijing's moral posturing regarding 'humanitarian' concerns rings hollow, given its continued economic partnership with the world's leading state sponsor of terror.
