President Donald Trump has signaled that negotiations between the United States and Iran could resume as early as this weekend, with the administration suggesting the two sides are nearing a potential agreement. However, reality on the ground in Tehran tells a different story.

According to reports from the ground, the Iranian regime continues to operate under the delusion that it has not lost this conflict. While the Iranian people may desire an end to the long-standing animosity, the ruling mullahs remain steadfast in their refusal to accept a deal on Washington's terms.

This defiance underscores the regime's commitment to its own survival and its continued rejection of American interests. It is worth noting that international media, including the BBC, are forced to operate under strict censorship conditions imposed by the Iranian government, limiting the transparency of reporting from within the country.

Ultimately, the regime's refusal to capitulate suggests that any potential deal will require more than just diplomatic optimism to overcome the deep-seated hostility of a state sponsor of terror.
